Copying of Items

Use

You can use copying functions to convert free or trial items into standard items or to restart cancelled, terminated or expired items.

You can also use the copying functions restart or backdated restart as a data entry utility when creating new items in an order.

Each copying function provides you with a copy of an existing order item for continued processing.

The copying functions are available as follows:

Generates a standard item from a trial item

Restart

  • Generates a valid item from a closed item

  • Copies an existing item as a template with a validity period beginning on the current date

Backdated restart

  • Generates a valid item with a validity period that begins in the past from a closed item

  • Copies an existing item as a template for a new item with a validity period beginning in the past

You can execute the copying function by means of the menu path Start of the navigation path Item Next navigation step Copying functions Next navigation step <copying function> End of the navigation path at the following points in the system:

  • in the item overview

  • on the item data screen
