Access to attachments via Microsoft Internet Explorer
You use Microsoft Internet Explorer
and want to display attachments in the browser. To do this, Microsoft Internet Explorer
checks the content of the attachment to determine the file type and display the attachment correctly (MIME Type Sniffing
). In the worst case, it is thus possible that damaging files of an undesired file type are displayed in the browser or cause damage in another way. To avoid this potential threat to security, deselect MIME Type Sniffing
in the security settings of Microsoft Internet Explorer
.
