Measuring BPO Usage
Prerequisites
-
You have a BPO contract.
-
If you want to perform a cross-client measurement, you need a user in each client with RFC authorizations and the authorization S_USER_GRP.
Context
The following process provides an overview of the preparation and performance of the usage measurement that you need to perform for each SAP system.
Procedure
-
Start the measurement program (transaction BPOMEAS).
-
Define whether you want to measure the usage client-specifically or across clients:
-
To measure only the relevant logon client, choose Client-Specific.
-
To measure all clients from one client, choose Cross-Client.
-
-
If you want to measure the usage across clients, create an RFC destination for each client by choosing Create Destinations.
The system successively displays a dialog box for each client that does not yet have an RFC destination, on which it requests the user name and password to create an initial RFC destination for the relevant client. These destinations are automatically assigned names in accordance with the internal naming convention SAP_USMM_<client>. You can edit the destinations later in transaction SM59.
-
In the User Name field, enter a user that has RFC authorization for this client and the authorization S_USER_GRP.
-
In the Password and Repeat Password fields, enter the password of this user.
-
-
Start the measurement by choosing Start Measurement.
-
You can check whether there is a measurement result for every client by choosing .
The following measurement statuses are possible:
-
Green: The BPO usage was successfully measured, and the measurement result is available.
-
Yellow: The client was measured, but errors or warnings occurred.
-
Red: It was not possible to measure the client.
-
-
If the measurement has the status yellow or red, open the Messages node.
This displays the applications for each client, with the related messages shown below each application. The messages always relate to the most recent measurement.
-
To display the measurement results for each client and application, choose .
The measurement results for the last six completed months are displayed in a row.
-
Choose Data Transfer to send the measurement results directly to SAP with SDCCN or SDCC.
