Enabling SSO for the Mobile Client
Use
Single Sign On (SSO) is the mechanism that eliminates the need for you to enter password for every system you log on to. The mobile client for laptops and handhelds use the SAP Enterprise Portal Server to enable SSO for the client.

Prerequisites

You have installed and set up the SAP Enterprise Portal.

You have installed the mobile client for laptops or handhelds.
Procedure
Enabling SSO for Mobile Client for Laptops

Obtain the Enterprise Archive (EAR) file that enables the SAP Enterprise Portal to access the mobile client. The EAR file is available in the Service Marketplace (SMP).
Download the NWMCLIENT SETUP . ZIP from the SMP.

Extract the contents of NWMCLIENT SETUP . ZIP and navigate to the MobileClient folder.
In the MobileClient folder, extract the contents of the NWMCLIENT.sca file.
In the extracted contents, navigate to the DEPLOYARCHIVES folder, and obtain the sap.com~tc~mobile~ mwd ~laptop~ssopkg.ear file.

Upload the EAR file to the SAP Enterprise Portal.

Configure the default.properties file of the mobile client with the SSO parameters.

Start the mobile client.

Create a user in the mobile client.
The user and the password must be the same on the client and the SAP Enterprise Portal.

Log on to the mobile client through the SAP Enterprise Portal.

Enabling SSO for Mobile Client for Handhelds

Assign the SSO_CONFIG agent to the relevant devices and specify values for the required agent parameters.
When the device user synchronizes with the DOE, the agent is deployed on the device. Once the user starts the client after synchronization, SSO is enabled on the mobile client. The user must be the same on the client and the SAP Enterprise Portal even though the user is not required to log on to the client through the SAP Enterprise Portal.
