Configuring System Status

Use

To ensure that you can monitor the system status of the Data Orchestration Engine (DOE) periodically, you must configure the parameters related to system status by:

  • Specifying the threshold values for the system status parameters

  • Adding the back-end destinations that have an impact on the system status

Prerequisites

You have logged on to the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator.

More information: Logging On to SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator

Procedure

Configuring System Status Parameters

  1. Choose the Configuration tab.

  2. Choose System Status Configuration .

  3. In Configure System Status Parameters , enter the yellow and red threshold values for the required parameters.

  4. To select the parameters that must be considered to determine the system status, select the Active option along side the required parameters.

  5. To send an alert to CCMS if any parameter exceeds the threshold value, select Send Alert option along side the required parameter.

  6. Choose Save .

Adding Back-End Destinations

  1. In Configure Backend Destinations , choose Add .

  2. Select the required back-end destinations.

  3. Choose Save .

Result

The system status icon on the Mobile Overview page indicates the status of the system. The system status is represented by the following colors:

  • Red

Indicates that one or numerous parameters have exceeded the red threshold value

  • Yellow

Indicates that one or numerous parameters have exceeded the yellow threshold value

  • Green

Indicates that none of the parameters have not exceeded the red or yellow threshold values

System Status Parameters

The system parameters are set by the system administrator. If the threshold values are exceeded, the administrator is notified with the appropriate status details. The administrator can also activate alerts for individual system parameters.

The different parameters related to system status are described below

Parameter Name

Description

Number of failed BE Destinations

Provides a notification of the number of configured back end destinations that have failed.

Number of devices for which extract is stopped

Provides the number of devices for which the extract is stopped. This depends on the values set for maximum threshold for queue size and the maximum threshold for days not synced. These are Statistics Configuration parameters.

Average Sync Duration(ms)

This is the average sync duration between the DOE and device. This includes the sync duration at the DOE, Network and Client.

Average Sync Duration at DOE(ms)

This is the average processing time taken at the DOE. It corresponds to the request and response time of messages in the DOE.

Average Sync Duration at Network(ms)

This is the time taken over the network during synchronization.

Number of Initial Loads per day

The number of times that an initial load of data objects is performed in the DOE per day.

Number of Delta Downloads per day

The number of times that a delta download of data objects is performed in the DOE per day.

Number of Inserts per day

The number of insertions of records in the DOE per day. These records could have been inserted by a back end or a Mobile Client.

Number of Deletes per day

The number of deletions of records in the DOE per day. These records could have been deleted by a back end or a Mobile Client.

Number of Updates per day

The number of updates made to records present in the DOE per day. These records could have been updated by a back end or a Mobile Client.

Average Sync Duration at Client(ms)

This is the average processing time taken at the Client. It includes the average upload and download durations at the Client.

Average Upload Duration at Client(ms)

Average duration to upload data from the DOE to the Client.

Average Download Duration at Client(ms)

Average duration to download data from the Client to the DOE.

Device Outbound Queue Size Threshold(bytes)

Number of devices that exceeds the outbound queue size threshold.

The Maximum Threshold for Queue Size can be set under Statistics Configuration. The Queue Statistics option has to be checked for this parameter to be used. If this threshold is exceeded then the extract to the device is blocked.

Maximum allowable Device Inbound Queue Blocks

Maximum number of inbound queues that could be blocked in the DOE at any point of time.

Maximum allowable DOE Queue Blocks

Maximum number of queues that could be blocked in the DOE at any point of time. These queues include Device Outbound and Inbound Queues, DOE RR Queues, DOE Backend Queues, Device Reassignment Queues, Mass Device Setup Queues, Extract Queues and Device Time Object Gen. Queues.

Days not synced

Number of devices which does not sync with the DOE within a specified number of days.

The Maximum Threshold for Days Not Synced can be set under Statistics Configuration. The Queue Statistics option has to be checked for this parameter to be used. If this threshold is exceeded then the extract to the device is blocked.
