Downloading Software for Devices

Use

If a device or a set of devices require software, such as the database, JVM, framework, or a patch, you can send a URL to these devices using which the device user can download the required software directly.

Prerequisites

You have uploaded the required software to the Data Orchestration Engine (DOE).

You have logged on to the SAP NetWeaver Mobile administrator.

Procedure

Identifying the URL for Software Download

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver AS.

  2. From the user menu, expand Start of the navigation pathData Orchestration Engine Next navigation step Administration  Next navigation step  Software Package ManagementEnd of the navigation path.

  3. Double-click Device Software Download .

You can send the URL of the page that opens to the required devices. The device user can then open the page and download the required software.

Downloading Software

  1. On the client device, open the URL sent by your administrator.

  2. Select the required options.

  3. Choose Get Files .

  4. Select the file that you want to download.

  5. Choose Download File.

  6. If you had specified to download JVM, then select the required JVM and choose Download JVM .

  7. Save the files at the required location on the device.
