Monitoring Messages

Use

You use this procedure to monitor messages. You monitor messages to do the following tasks:

  • Confirm the status of various tasks

  • Analyze errors and troubleshoot them

  • Compare the data in the client to that in the DOE and back end

Prerequisites

You have logged on to SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator.

Procedure

  1. Choose the Monitoring tab page.

  2. Choose Message Monitoring .

  3. Specify the criteria for your search and choose Start Search .

    In addition, you can use the Advanced Search option that provides additional parameters to search for the required messages. The search results are displayed.

  4. Select a message and view the details of the message under Message Header Details .

Checking the Consistency of the Message

The consistency check looks for possible errors that can occur during the reprocessing of a message. Based on the results of the consistency check, you can determine whether the message can be successfully reprocessed.

To check if a message can be reprocessed, choose Check Consistency .

Reprocessing Messages in the Message Store

If an error occurs during the processing of a message and the message is not processed by the DOE, you can reprocess it from the message store. In this case, you may have to compare the content of the message with the content of the corresponding message in the CDS and modify the message in the message store before reprocessing it.

To reprocess a failed message, choose Restart Message .

Viewing the History of Reprocessed Messages

The message restart history provides information about the messages that you have reprocessed from the message store. Therefore, before you reprocess a message, you can view the restart history to check whether the message has already been reprocessed.

To view the history of messages that have been reprocessed in the message store, choose View Restart History .

Viewing Message Details

You can view details such as the status, CDS value, and back-end value for multiple messages. For messages with the status Failed , you may want to compare the content of the message in the message store with the content of the corresponding message in the CDS; based on this information, you may have to modify the message.

Additionally, you can customize the view of the message details depending on the fields you want to view.

To view the details of the message, choose View Message Details . You can view the details of the message in the Message Details tray.

  1. To customize the message details that you want to view, choose Filter Fields .

  2. To edit the message, choose Edit .

To search a particular message in the Message Details tray, you can enter text in the Filter Message field.

Viewing Troubleshooting Information for Messages

If there is an error during the processing of a message and the message is not processed by the DOE, you can reprocess it from the message store. However, before you reprocess the message, you can view troubleshooting information of the message to identify the causes for the failure of the message and activities to be performed to resolve these errors.

To view troubleshooting information for a failed message, choose Troubleshoot .
