Creating a Single Device

Prerequisites

You have logged on to the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator portal.

Procedure

Choose the Administration tab page.
Under Device Management , choose Device Administration .
Choose Create Device tab page.
In the Device Name field, enter a name for the device.

Note

You can use a GUID value as the device name.
In the User field, enter a user for the device.
To create the device as a test device, select Create as Test Device .

Note

After mobile components are uploaded to the Data Orchestration Engine (DOE), you must test these components before you deploy them to a large number of productive mobile devices. You can test these mobile components only on devices that are created using the above-mentioned option.
Enter values for device attributes.
Save your entries.

The system creates a device with the name you specified. In addition, the system generates a device ID that logically identifies a device in the Data Orchestration Engine.

Next Steps

Whenever an administrator approves a device deletion workflow in the portal, the portal triggers an alert message to the portal inbox of all the administrators. In addition, the alert is also sent to the CCMS tool.
