Setting Up Devices by Using the Software Package

Prerequisites

You have ensured that client devices have 2 GB of free disk space.

Procedure

Log on the Data Orchestration Engine (DOE) and start transaction SDOE_DOWNLOAD_PACK .
In Select Package , choose Software Package .
Choose Execute .
In the Software Package Name field, enter the name of the software package.

You can also choose F4 to select the software package from the list.
In the Directory to download file field, enter the path where you want to download the installable zip file.
Choose Download .

the system creates a folder that contains the installable zip file in the path you specified in step 5. You must copy the installable zip file to the required client devices. If you are rolling out handheld devices, we recommend that you unzip the installable file on the DOE itself and then copy the folders and files within the zip file to the \TEMP folder on the handheld devices.
On the mobile device (Laptop), unzip the installable zip file, locate and execute the MassDeviceSetup.exe file to perform the setup.

Follow the instructions in the install shield. The install shield performs the installation in the following sequence:
1. JRE
2. Database
3. Framework

  You can also perform the installation in the silent mode. In this case, when you execute MassDeviceSetup.exe , you are not prompted to specify any value and the system performs the installation in the background. To do this, you must execute MassDeviceSetup.exe from the command prompt by using the following command:
  
  MassDeviceSetup.exe /s /z "- path<C:\Temp> "
  
  If you do not want the user to specify values for any of the installation related parameters, then we recommend that you perform the installation in silent mode. This can be triggered by using MassDeviceSetup.bat file.
On the mobile device (handheld), execute the <filename> .jar file to perform the setup. The name of the .jar file can be pdamds.jar.

After the setup is complete, you must restart the handheld device.
