Monitoring Subscription Messages

Use

The subscription message monitoring tool allows you to perform:

  • Basic search to search for messages that belong to a particular subscriber or a target host.

  • Advanced search to search for messages that belong to a particular host, target IP, user, time, and date.

Messages can be displayed using:

  • Standard views that allow you to view the default information.

  • Personalized views that allow you to view necessary information based on your requirements.

Prerequisites

The SAP_SDOE_ESDBR_DWLD role must be assigned to your user to allow you to monitor the subscription messages between the MEC and the mobile device. Procedure

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver Application Server.

  2. Choose Subscription monitor for MEC .

  3. On the Subscription Message Monitoring screen, enter the user name.

  4. In the View drop-down list, choose the view.

  5. Choose Start Search .

  6. If you want to display the details of a particular message, choose the corresponding row in the list of messages and display its details on the Subscription Details tab.

The following table explains the fields for a subscription message:

Field Name

Description

Host Name

Name of the client that connects to the DOE.

Target IP

IP address of the client.

Subscription ID

ID generated by the client during the subscription operation. The client subsequently uses this ID to identify the notifications that the DOE sends after successfully subscribing.

Notify To

URL of the client to which the DOE sends notification messages.

End To

URL of the client to which the DOE sends un-subscribe messages.

Namespace

XML namespace for the subscription messages.

Extract Window

Filter parameter that indicates the maximum number of notifications the server can send before it receives a confirmation from the client.

Device Auto Created

A flag that is set when the subscription operation results in the creation of a new device on DOE. If the flag is set, the device should be deleted when the subscription is ended.
