Network Security

Use

When using the BW, note the information under "Network and Communication Security" in the SAP NetWeaver security guidelines.

We recommend the use of firewalls to control the network traffic in your system landscape. A firewall comprises hardware and software components that specify which connections are permitted between communication partners. The firewall only allows the specified connections to be used. All other others are blocked by the firewall. For more information, see "Using Firewall Systems for Access Control" in the SAP NetWeaver security guidelines.

To secure RFC connections or connections with Internet protocols, we recommend that you use Secure Network Communications (SNC) or Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) as your security method.
