Function documentationSearch Using Enterprise Search

You can integrate the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search component with SAP Claims Management. This enables you to perform a quick and efficient search for claims using specific search criteria (such as the license plate of a damaged vehicle or the address of a claim participant).

Enterprise Search scans the following data (meaning that the following data is indexed in Enterprise Search):

  • Claims

  • Business partner

  • Archived documents (that are assigned to a claim)

  • Notes (that are assigned to a claim)

For more information, see:

  • Technical details on integration of SAP Claims Management with SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search and indexed data:

Integration

To be able to use Enterprise Search, you need authorization for the following authorization objects:

  • for the search for claims

    • I_ICL_ACLM

    • I_ICL_CTYP

  • for the search for business partners

    • B_BUPA_RLT with the role categories ICL000, ICL001, ICL003, ICL004, ICL005, ICL010, 000000

  • for the search for archived documents

    • I_ICL_ACLM

    • I_ICL_CTYP

    • I_ICL_SCTY

  • for the search for notes

    • either I_ICL_ACLM, I_ICL_CTYP, AUTHGRP or

    • I_ICL_SCLT, AUTHGRP

Prerequisites

  • In Customizing for SAP Claims Management, you have executed the activities under Start of the navigation path Claim Next navigation step Technical Settings Next navigation step Find Next navigation step Claim Search Next navigation step Enterprise Search End of the navigation path.

  • You have configured a TREX search engine and connected this to SAP Claims Management (see SAP note 1509969).

Features

Enterprise Search is available in SAP Claims Management as a web-based user interface (UI) and as an SAP Graphical User Interface (SAP GUI).

Web-Based UI

To call Enterprise Search using a web-based UI, on the SAP Easy Access screen choose Start of the navigation path Insurance Next navigation step Claims Management Next navigation step Claim Next navigation step Search Next navigation step Search for Claims Using Search Engine (Enterprise Search) End of the navigation path.

The system then opens the web browser and loads the search application. The following search methods are then available:

  • Simple search

You enter a search term, and Enterprise Search searches for this search term in all indexed data.

  • Enhanced search

You can restrict the search for a search term to a specific indexed area (claims, business partner, documents, notes). Depending on the indexed area that you select, you can enter other search criteria, such as:

    • with claims:

contract number, claim date, incident type, claim status

    • with business partners:

first name, last name, date of birth

    • with documents

texts of the documents, person who made the last change

    • with notes:

title of the note, text of the note

In the list of hits, the following functions are available:

  • You can view the details for an object found. In the case of a claim, for example, this information might be a list of the claim participants or the assigned subclaim.

  • From the hit list you can navigate to the SAP Claims Management application, for example to display mode of a claim.

  • If the system finds the search term in a document or note, you can navigate from the hit list directly to the document or note. Own user interfaces are available for documents or notes, providing you with the correct format for the document or note.

SAP GUI

To call Enterprise Search via the SAP GUI: in transaction Change (Expert Mode) (transaction codeICLCDC02), in the input help for the claim number, choose the tab page Claim Search Via Search Engine (Full Text Search).

You can now control whether the search should only deliver exact hits (meaning that the search term entered corresponds exactly to the hit) or hits that more or less match the search term. To start the non-exact search, in the Fuzzy Mode field, choose X.

Example Example

You enter the search term 'Philips'. In the exact search, the system only searches for business partners with the name 'Philips'. In the fuzzy search, the system also searches for business partners with the name 'Philips', 'Phillips', 'Philip' or 'Phillip'.

End of the example.

In the list of hits, the following functions are available:

  • The system searches in all indexed areas for the search term you entered (meaning it searches in all business partners, archived documents, and notes), but in the results list it only displays those claims in which it found the search term.

  • You can sort the hit list according to certain criteria, such as claim number, date of loss, policyholder.
