Unified Connectivity

Use

The Unified Connectivity(UCON) concept combines the central connectivity technologies of the ABAP server (RFC, HTTP, HTTPS) in an administration framework with the following objective:

  • Increased security of communication, for example, by reducing the functions that can be seen and called externally.

  • Simplified administration, for example, by analyzing the required RFC authorizations and creating different RFC user roles

  • Administration of whitelists, for example, to allow unwanted HTTP(S) calls to be blocked

  • Simple and consistent configuration

  • Support of additional functionality such as how the delivery of a related connectivity configuration for new applications.

Integration

To make it possible to integrate your communication into the UCON component, SAP provides various tools that can be used to collect, analyze, and monitor RFC and HTTP(S) calls.
