Taxonomy Trainer
Use
You use the Taxonomy Trainer to carry out the initial training of example-based taxonomies. You use this function after creating a new taxonomy folder.
Procedure
Training Folders
-
To define the documents that describe the contents of a taxonomy folder, enter a query in the search field and choose Search .
The quality of the contents of the taxonomy folder depends on your search query. Formulate your search query carefully so that you get the best results possible.
-
Select the taxonomy folder/s you want to train in the upper area of the screen.
-
Choose Train Folder .
The documents that are selected in the results list are classified into the selected taxonomy folder and added to the folder's training set. These documents are used as the basis for calculating the contents of taxonomy folders when automatic classification takes place.
Untraining a Folder
If you have trained a taxonomy folder using a search query that was formulated too loosely, you can formulate a new search query in order to remove a subset of the document from the training set for the taxonomy folder in question.
-
Formulate a search query that describes the documents that you want to remove from the training set of a category, and choose Search .
-
Select the taxonomy folder/s from which you want to remove the documents found in the upper area of the screen.
-
Choose Untrain Folder .
The documents that are selected in the results list are removed from the training set of the selected taxonomy folder if they were assigned to it in the first place.
Result
You have carried out initial training. If you create a new document whose contents show a sufficient degree of similarity to the contents of the training documents of a particular taxonomy folder, the new document is classified into the taxonomy folder in question.
