Creating Change States You use this procedure to create another change state for an existing recipe.
If, in addition to status management, checking dependent change states is active for the recipe type, all subsequent change states must have the status
In process
or
Rejected
(see
Checking of Dependent Change States
).
When you create the change state, you need a change master record in which the required valid-from date and the following object types are active:
For recipe editing, object type
Recipe Management
For formula editing, the additional object type
Substance
In recipes with dependent formulas, you also need this object type for recipe editing.
A change number identifies the change master record. To create a change master record, you have the following options:
You can create it in engineering change management before recipe editing.
You can create it from within the recipe when creating a change state for that recipe.
You can either create the change master record manually or let the system generate it. If you want to use generation, you must have assigned an appropriate change number profile to the recipe type in Customizing for
Recipe Management

If required, you can also assign a new change number. In this case, you can also create the change master record manually.

The key date and the valid-from date of the change master record must be after the date of the first recipe change state.
If you entered a new change number, decide whether you want to create the change master record manually or whether you want the system to generate it. To create the change master record manually, proceed as follows:
