Documents Depending on the requirements of your enterprise or processes, you may want to add additional information and explanations to the recipe data and texts defined in the standard system by adding, for example, standard operating procedures (SOPs) or a plant graphic. These types of information must often be displayed in different formats, for example, as text, as a graphic, or as a video sequence and can apply to more than one recipe at a time.
You use this function to insert documents and other files, such as graphics and video sequences, in your recipes.
To integrate centrally managed documents and other files in your recipes, the following requirements must be met:
You have defined the necessary documents and files in SAP Document Management. These documents and files are of a document type that you configured for use in recipes in Customizing for
Recipe Management
under
.
You have activated the
Documentsview for your recipe types in Customizing for
Recipe Management
under
.
You store the documents you want to link to your recipes in SAP Document Management and manage them centrally there. All data formats supported in document management are available to you. Document management also supports you in managing different document versions as well as in controlling and documenting the document releases (see Document Management ).
Once you have assigned a document to a recipe, you can display and print the assigned document and its original application files from the recipe. If necessary, you can also enter a long text about the document link.
Note
When you release a recipe for which status management is active, you cannot make any more changes to it. However, if you want to assign more documents to released recipes too, you can activate this function for the recipe type in Customizing for
Recipe Management
under
. However, you cannot make any more changes to the remaining recipe data or any existing document links once the recipe has been released.
