Use

This function determines the composition of the primary output of the formula, that is, it determines the ingredients and their percentage proportions in the primary output.

Integration

The system calculates the composition when you open the Composition formula view and displays the determined composition in this formula view (see Composition ).

Features

The system determines the ingredients of the primary output by performing a cross-recipe formula explosion via substances. Here it uses the data in the Input and Output formula view as well as the explosion scope Composition (CMP).

The explosion scope CMP is set up in the standard system in such a way that the system replaces the substances that it found in the formula explosion with their compositions from the property tree. It takes this composition from the value assignment type of the category Composition , which you have specified for the explosion scope CMP in Customizing for Recipe Management in the IMG activity Specify Parameters for Explosion Scope . If a substance in this value assignment type does not contain a composition, the substance itself can be transferred to the result. In Customizing for Recipe Management in the IMG activity Specify Parameters for Explosion Scope , you also specify whether the substance is transferred.

If in the formula explosion the system finds a formula for a substance that you have marked as a reaction, it does not explode this formula further. Instead, it uses the composition of the substance, that is, the composition you specified in the property tree, in the value assignment type that you specified for the explosion scope CMP in Customizing for Recipe Management in the IMG activity Specify Parameters for Explosion Scope .

However, the system transfers a substance that it determined in the formula explosion as an ingredient to the composition, only if it belongs to a specification type that is permitted for the Composition view. You define the permitted specification types in Customizing for Recipe Management in the IMG activity Specify Allowed Specification Types .

Determining Substance Quantities

Based on the quantities that are specified in the formulas and compositions, the system determines the proportion in which an ingredient is contained in the current output substance. However, the quantity of an ingredient is taken into account only if it is relevant for the calculation (see Formula Explosion ). If several output substances are assigned to a formula, it assumes that the relative proportions of the input substances are the same for all output substances.

If the system cannot calculate the quantity for a substance, for example, because it cannot convert the units used into one another, it terminates the calculation.
