Transformation Process

Purpose

You use this process to transform a general recipe to a master recipe. General recipes serve as a template for the production version and the traditional master recipe.

Prerequisites

  • You have made the settings for the master recipe transformation in Customizing for the Master Recipe under Transformation of General Recipe to Master Recipe .

  • The following master data is available in the target system in which you want to create the master recipe:

    • Material master

    • Classes

    • Properties

    • Resources

    • Resource classification

    • Master inspection characteristics

    • Inspection methods

    • Process instruction category and process instruction characteristic

Process Flow

  1. You start the transformation process and enter the data for the master recipe that you want to use as a template.

  2. You enter the detailed data for the master recipe you want to create.

  3. You transform the general recipe to a master recipe.

  4. You copy all or selected stages from the general recipe to the master recipe. The system transforms the general recipe stages to master recipe operations and the general recipe operations to master recipe phases. The master recipe tree is now filled with the details from the general recipe. Note that the numbering of the operations and phases in the master recipe might be different from that of the corresponding stages and operations in the general recipe.

If the formulas assigned to the stages in the general recipe contain streams, which in turn are assigned QM data, the system creates a new phase in the master recipe for this QM data.

  5. You assign resources to the master recipe operations if the system determines one or more suitable resources using the equipment requirement classification in the relevant general recipe stage.

    • If the system determines one or more suitable primary resources for the master recipe operation, it displays the operation in green.

    • If the system cannot determine a suitable primary resource, it displays the master recipe operation in red.

  6. The system automatically generates the bill of material for the master recipe from the data in the general recipe.

  7. You save the master recipe.

    Note Note

If you have copied only selected general recipe stages, you can transform the general recipe stages you did not copy to another master recipe.

If you want to split a general recipe into several production versions or master recipes, the stage that was selected last can either contain an output stream or the primary output material. If the stage that was selected last contains an output stream, you have to assign a valid material. This material is then the output material of the transformed production version and the BOM. You also have to specify the reference quantity.

    End of the note.
  8. You split or merge operations. This is necessary if different resources are available to those in the general recipe.

Result

You have created a master recipe, production version, and a bill of material from a general recipe. You can now edit the master recipe by choosing Start of the navigation path Master Recipes Next navigation step Change Recipes and Material List End of the navigation path .

You can display the transformation log .
