Logging Configuration Changes
Use
Changes to the configuration entries are logged automatically. You can see in the log, who made which changes when.
Integration
To display the log, use the SAP NetWeaver Administrator (NWA) or the Log Viewer.
Features
If a configuration object is changed, either manually using the configuration iView or automatically using services or applications, the following information is logged:
- Name of the changed object
- Name of the category in which you can find the object in the configuration
- Name of the user who made the change
- Type of change (new creation, update, or deletion)
- List of the parameters that were changed
The old and new values are displayed. The technical names of the parameters are displayed, as are the user interface names, if they exist.
In addition, the following information is displayed:
- Start, progress, and end of deployments
- Start, execution, or termination of a queued update
- Creation or restoration of a backup
- Validity checks performed on the configuration
