Monitoring the Sending of e-mails

Use

You can monitor and test the distribution of BEx objects by e-mail in transaction SAPconnect: Administration (System Status).

You have set up the mail server and maintained the users' e-mail addresses in the user master data maintenance transaction.

Perform Routing Test

In the BW system, call SAPconnect: Administration (System Status) (transaction SCOT).
In the menu, choose Utilities → Routing Test.
On the SAPconnect: Test Routes screen, enter the required user name for the BW system as the sender.
Choose INT (Internet mail address) as the recipient address type.
Enter the e-mail address of the BW user as the recipient address. You can view the address in user maintenance (transaction SU01).
In the menu, choose Routes → Explain to test the routing and view explanations.

Monitor Send Requests

In the BW system, call SAPconnect: Administration (System Status) (transaction SCOT).
In the menu, choose Utilities → Overview of Send Orders.
You can view the status of sent e-mails.
For further analysis, enter the required selection criteria on the Time, Send Status, Sender, andOptions tab pages.
Caution

If message number 672 Waiting for communication serviceis displayed in the status bar, the system is unable to output the send status as Transmitted.
1. In this case, check the selected settings in transaction SAPconnect: Administration (System Status) (transaction SCOT) by choosing Settings → Confirmation of Receipt from the menu.
2. Make sure that the SAPconnect does not expect receipt confirmation for Internet mail option is selected.
  If you have selected option SAPconnect expects receipt confirmations for Internet mail, the recipients of the e-mails might not return a confirmation of receipt. The system then displays message number 672.
