Calculation of BufferThe system calculates the total available buffer in an order as follows:
Reads the start and end date from the order header.
Considers the relevant operations from the order for scheduling.
Internally, clears all of the dates.
Sets the scheduling parameters to forwards in time.
Executes scheduling
If transport and wait time (TWT) is active, reads if there are different work centers in the order and adds the TWT defined for those work centers.
Operations that are processed in follow-on work centers are shifted into the future, because of the TWT.
Determines the time between the end of the last operation and the order end date.
The result is the total available buffer.
Note
For each work center that is involved in the order the system derives a work center-specific buffer from the total buffer. Depending on the share of the duration that each work center has of the total duration of the order, the system adds up the work center-specific buffers into the buffer used in CMC buffer distribution. This should be taken into consideration if each work center has a different set of working hours.
