Alert Settings on Operation LevelOrders may contain several individual operations that may be dealt with by different work centers. Each work center has to focus on the individual operations in the order that are relevant to them. To assist the work centers in monitoring these operations, in addition to the global order code and priority value, an alert setting shows the buffer situation of these individual operations in the CMC.
The alert settings provide a "straight-forward" level of visualization for operations in the CMC, because the system displays the following symbols:
Symbol |
Meaning |
|
Critical warning: Operation dates at risk |
|
Warning: Check whether operation dates at risk |
|
Pre-warning: Operation end date not yet at risk |
|
OK: Operation end date can be met |
Note
Express orders do not have symbols. The symbol that denotes an express order at this level of the order hierarchy is
.
If the CMC displays the symbol
, either you have changed the order code from within the CMC during the current session and you have not pressed Refresh, or the Customizing settings have been changed or do not exist, or the CMC calculation mode equals
None
.
You determine the values of each alert setting in the Customizing activity for CMC order codes and priority settings.
The CMC performs the following calculation for each operation:
It sets the "dummy" start time to now, and uses the scheduled latest end date of the operation.
The CMC checks whether the operation is already in progress.
If yes, it sets the "dummy" start to the actual start date of the operation.
If no, it sets the "dummy" start to the current date.
The CMC calculates a comparison earliest possible end date by adding the duration to the "dummy" start of the operation.
The CMC calculates the difference between the comparison possible end date and the scheduled latest end date calculated by the CMC for this operation.
The CMC checks whether this difference is less than or equal to one of the alert settings defined for the order code in Customizing, and sets the relevant alert symbol for that operation.
Note
In an operation that has no delays or buffer, the "dummy" and planned/scheduled latest end dates calculated by the system are the same (or almost equal) if the work center starts the operation on time.
If there is already a delay in processing the operation, and the actual start date is later than the planned start date, or in the case of available buffer the latest scheduled end date is later than the "dummy", the system calculates a negative time difference, resulting in one of the other alert settings (dependent on the values that you have maintained in Customizing of Order Codes and Priority Rules).
For example, you set the value -1 for
OvrTime
. This results in the system setting this alert for all negative differences that are smaller than or equal to -1.
