Substitutions Based on Daily Work Schedules

Use

You can use this form of substitution to record full-day, short-term deviations from an employee’s work schedule. You define the working time on the basis of a daily work schedule stored in the system.

Using this form of substitution as opposed to a substitution on the basis of a work schedule rule is recommended in cases such as the following:

  • An employee is to be assigned another work schedule for only a few days.

  • The working pattern in the work schedule is to be changed for a short time only.

  • The employee is to work according to a particular daily work schedule variant.

  • The employee is to work on a public holiday.

    Example Example

The daily work schedules “early shift” and “late shift” are defined in your enterprise. You require a substitution for the late shift on January 21, 2004. You choose an employee who, according to his or her daily work schedule, is assigned to the early shift on January 21, 2004. If you assign the late shift to this employee, the system overwrites the employee’s original planned working time for the day (early shift).

    End of the example.

Features

  • To represent this form of substitution, you enter the daily work schedule according to which the employee is to work during the substitution. You can assign only daily work schedules that fit with the employee’s organizational unit. The input help therefore displays only appropriate daily work schedules.

  • If the employee is only to work according to another daily work schedule variant ,you only have to enter data in the Daily Work Schedule Variant field. The system then automatically assigns the appropriate daily work schedule.

  • By changing the day typeto 0 ( paid work ), you can create a substitution record for a public holiday.
