You can use this personnel action to define a leave of absence for employees in concurrent employment in the system. You can transfer the data from a personnel assignment for which you specify the leave of absence into another personnel assignment. When performing the personnel action, you can also make the necessary adjustments for attendance and absence quotas and benefits plans.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for Personnel Management, under Start of the navigation path Personnel Administration Next navigation step Customizing Procedures Next navigation step Settings for Concurrent Employment Next navigation step Personnel Actions for Concurrent Employment End of the navigation path, you have made the settings under Define Info Groups for Concurrent Employment and Define Personnel Action Types for Concurrent Employment.

Features

  • When you perform the Leave of Absence (CE) action, the system displays a dialog box in which you can select the personnel assignment(s) for which you want to define the leave of absence. Personnel assignments with the status Left are displayed at the end of the list. However, you cannot select them.

    For the dialog box to be displayed, the Display Dialog Box for Selecting Personnel Assignments indicator must be set in Customizing under Define Personnel Action Types for Concurrent Employment.

  • The system goes through all infotype records that exist for a selected personnel assignment. You can copy the suggested delimitation date or state a different date.

  • You can transfer the data from a personnel assignment for which you specify a leave of absence into another personnel assignment. After you have delimited the infotype records, the system displays a dialog box in which you can select the required personnel assignment.

    For the dialog box to be displayed, the following settings must exist in Customizing:

    • Under Define Info Groups for Concurrent Employment, an info group exists for which the Assign Infotype to Different Personnel Assignment indicator is set.

    • Under Define Personnel Action Types for Concurrent Employment, this info group is assigned to the Leave of Absence (CE) personnel action.

  • When transferring data from one personnel assignment to another, the system suggests the field values and dates from the infotype record of the old personnel assignment for the new infotype record that is to be created. You can change these default values.

  • When performing the personnel action, you can directly make the necessary adjustments for attendance and absence quotas. The system jumps to the Quota Overview (transaction PT50).

    For the Quota Overview to be called, the Call Quota Overview indicator must be set in Customizing under Define Personnel Action Types for Concurrent Employment.

  • When performing the personnel action, you can directly make the necessary adjustments for benefits plans. The system jumps to the Benefits Workbench for Concurrent Employment (transaction HRBEN00CEWB).

    For the Benefits Workbench for Concurrent Employment to be called, the Call Benefits Workbench for Concurrent Employment indicator must be set in Customizing under Define Personnel Action Types for Concurrent Employment.
