You can use the Change of Legal Person personnel action to end a personnel assignment and create a new personnel assignment with a new legal person or employer. This is necessary if you want to change organizational data for an employee in concurrent employment and this change leads to a change of employer or legal person. When performing the personnel action, you can transfer data from the personnel assignment that you are ending to the new personnel assignment.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for Personnel Management, you have made the following settings under Start of the navigation path Personnel Administration Next navigation step Customizing Procedures Next navigation step Settings for Concurrent Employment Next navigation step Personnel Actions for Concurrent Employment End of the navigation path:

  • Specify Personnel Actions for Change of Legal Person

  • Define Personnel Action Types for Concurrent Employment

  • Specify Infotypes to Be Copied for Change of Legal Person

  • BAdI: Grouping Value for Change of Legal Person

Features

  • If you perform the Organizational Reassignment personnel action and the organizational changes would lead to the employer or legal person changing, the system displays a message that informs you that you need to perform the Change of Legal Person action instead. You can specify the message that the system is to display and the message type.

    You use the Business Add-In (BAdI) Grouping Value for Change of Legal Person (HRCCE_GET_GPVALUE_CHGLP). The BAdI uses the grouping reason XXNT (Net, Retroactive Accounting, Payment) for the check. For more information about this grouping reason, see Grouping Personnel Assignments for Net Calculation, Retroactive Accounting, and Payment. For more information about the BAdI HRCCE_GET_GPVALUE_CHGLP, see Customizing and choose BAdI: Grouping Value for Change of Legal Person.

  • In a dialog box, the Change of Legal Person action provides you with personnel actions for ending the existing personnel assignment and creating the new personnel assignment. You can specify the personnel actions that are available for selection in this dialog box. You have the following options:

    • You use the characteristic Actions - Default values for Recognition (ACTCE).

    • You use the table T529A (Types of Personnel Actions) in the Customizing activity Define Personnel Action Types for Concurrent Employment.

    In the standard system, the ACTCE characteristic is used. For more information, see Customizing and choose Specify Personnel Actions for Change of Legal Person.

  • You can transfer data from a personnel assignment that you end to another existing personnel assignment. After you have delimited the infotype records, the system displays a dialog box in which you can select one of the personnel assignments that still exist.

    For the dialog box to be displayed, in Customizing under Define Personnel Action Types for Concurrent Employment, the Type of Personnel Action: Change of Legal Person indicator must be set for the Change of Legal Person personnel action.

  • To transfer data from one personnel assignment to another, in Customizing you can specify from which infotypes and which subtypes data is to be able to be transferred from a personnel assignment that is to be ended to a new personnel assignment. For a combination of infotype and subtype, you can also specify any number of fields that are to be displayed in the dialog box. You can use these fields when performing personnel actions to decide which infotype records you want to transfer to the new personnel assignment.

  • When transferring data from one personnel assignment to another, the system suggests the dates from the infotype record of the old personnel assignment for the new infotype record that is to be created. You can change these default values.
