Organizational Flexibility The different business processes of armed forces, police, and aid organizations (organization, Human Resources Management, Materials Management, Maintenance, and so on) run along organizational structures.
Each organizational element (department or unit, for example):
Has certain properties, responsibilities, tasks, and missions
Requires personnel, material, and financial resources in order to perform its tasks
Is included in different organizational structures (organizational structure, command and support relationships, and so on) and works in conjunction with other organizational elements in accordance with the relationships thereby defined
You can use the functions in the
Organizational Flexibility
area of the
Defense Forces & Public Security
component to map these organizational bases and to carry out your resource planning.
This complete and integrated mapping provides you with the required basis in the system to:
Control processes in
Human Resources
,
Logistics, Accounting,
and
Funds Management
Enable organizational changes to take effect automatically in the relevant processes
Enable you to plan and execute operations and exercises from the domestic base

You can use the functions in the
Organizational Flexibility
area to map the following for your organization:
The organizational elements in the domestic base, operation, and exercise using force elements
You describe the tasks/missions and all the key properties of these elements.
The authorized personnel of the individual organizational elements required to perform the tasks/missions
The authorized materials (in the form of non-consumable goods) of the individual organizational elements required to perform the tasks/missions
The logistical requirements (in the form of individual and bulk consumable goods) of the individual organizational elements required to perform the tasks/missions
The organizational structures (organizational structure, command and support relationships) for the domestic base, operation, and exercise using the force elements

Organizational Structures
The figure shows the organizational structure of a domestic base and an operation (or exercise) in a simplified form. The various series lines between the organizational elements show that not all elements are included in just one structure, but that different structures can be mapped at the same time. Each organizational element can be described using the properties mentioned earlier.

In addition, you can map external elements that do not belong to your organization (such as elements from cooperating organizations). These elements can be created as a
black box
and do not need to be described together with all their properties.
On the basis of these organizational structures, you can:
Make organizational changes in your daily business
Plan and map operations and exercises and plan and trigger the relocation of parts of your organization (personnel and material) to operational locations
Trigger a number of subsequent business processes
You carry out each of these steps in accordance with an approval process along a defined status sequence. If you change the status, checks and follow-up actions are triggered. You can use organizational measures to group organizational changes for a joint status change.
