Site Equipment The site equipment functions provide you with site management for equipment without you having to give this equipment master equipment properties. It is thus possible to localize the equipment to be deployed (such as seats, additional tanks, or maintenance equipment) at site level, independently of the storage location information.
Example
An aircraft is to be equipped with an additional tank for a flight. While the aircraft is assigned to a site as master equipment via a site entry, the additional tank is only managed as simple equipment so that it is not possible to determine where the additional tank is from the equipment information. If you create the additional tank as site equipment, you can also assign a site to the additional tank and thus specify in the system the site at which this equipment is located.
Example
Maintenance equipment that is only available in small quantities, for example, checking devices for hydraulic systems, can be monitored at site level to avoid bottlenecks when using this maintenance equipment.
The functions for site equipment are integrated into the applications for creating and changing equipment (transaction codes IE01 and IE02), the staff assignment board , and the status board .
The functions for creating, changing, and deleting site equipment are available in the transactions for creating and changing equipment on the
Op. Equipment
tab page.
If you are searching for equipment, you can specify a site as a search criterion to find all site equipment assigned to a particular site.
You can use change documents that the system automatically creates to display a detailed history for each piece of site equipment.
If you want to implement site equipment as master equipment, you can directly convert the site equipment to master equipment.
When creating or changing equipment, you can create this equipment as site equipment. On the
Op. Equipment
tab page, choose the
Create Site Equip.
pushbutton. You thus switch the input fields that are relevant for site equipment to be ready for input on this tab page and can enter and save the required data for localizing, identifying, and classifying the site equipment, and on the status of the site equipment. If you call equipment to make changes, you can also change the site equipment data on this tab page.
You can delete site equipment and thus remove the assignment of the equipment to a site. Call the related equipment to make changes and on the
Op. Equipment
tab page, choose the
Delete Site Equipment
pushbutton. After a confirmation prompt, the site equipment is deleted and the system resets the input fields on the tab page as initial. You can now save the equipment, or create new master equipment or site equipment.
If you delete site equipment, the system also deletes the related change documents.
When searching for site equipment, you can select by site. In the
Restrict Value Range
dialog box on the
Find Site Equipment
tab page, enter the required site.
It is also possible to display change documents for equipment, which indicate the usage history of the assigned sites. To display change documents for site equipment, choose the
Change Documents: Site Equipment
pushbutton on the
Op. Equipment
tab page. The system issues a list of all change documents that exist for the chosen site equipment.
If you want to convert site equipment to master equipment, you can use the transaction for changing equipment on the
Op. Equipment
tab page. Choose the
Convert to Master Equipment
pushbutton and confirm the confirmation prompt. The system now displays the additional fields and pushbuttons for master equipment. The system transfers the values that you previously entered for the site equipment to the master equipment. However, this does not apply to the weapon system ID.
During the conversion, the change documents are transferred from the site equipment to the master equipment. You can use the short description to distinguish which documents belong to the site equipment and which belong to the master equipment.
You make the Customizing settings for site equipment by choosing .
