Configuration

Use

The configuration describes the technical structure, the loading state, and the equipment of a technical object (for example a weapon system).

In aircraft, this applies to:

  • Installed and additional parts

  • Additional equipment

  • Weapons

  • Ammunition

  • Refueling

You map the actual configuration in order to describe the current configuration of a technical object.

You map the authorized configuration in order to define what the configuration of a technical object should be for a particular flight.

A comparisonbetween the actual and authorized configuration in the flight enables you to trigger processes for equipping or changing the technical object.

Integration

  • The configuration is an attribute of the master equipment .

  • In the flight, the authorized and actual configurations of a technical object are displayed as a comparison.

  • The actual configuration from the master equipment is displayed in the status board and in the flight plan .

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites must be met:

  • You have made the Customizing settings for the configuration in the Implementation Guide (IMG) by choosing Start of the navigation path Defense Forces & Public Security Next navigation step Support for Flight Operations Next navigation step Configuration Code Next navigation step Assign Configuration Code Class to Model Identification Code End of the navigation path .

  • The necessary master data has been stored in the classification system.

  • The configuration is represented in the system as a configuration code. The configuration code is mapped in the system as a characteristic value assignment. The standard functions of the Classification System , Characteristics, and Characteristic Value Assignments component are used for this.

The settings for the master data for the classification system and the characteristic value assignments are made in the Start of the navigation path Cross-Application Components Next navigation step Classification System Next navigation step Master Data End of the navigation path menu.

Features

The configuration is mapped using the classification of equipment. One class, with a fixed sequence of characteristics, is assigned to each aircraft. The individual characteristics describe the technical design, loading status, or installations for the aircraft. Different values can be assigned for each characteristic ( characteristic value assignment ). These values are coded using the individual configuration . A sequence of individual configurations for all defined characteristics forms the configuration code .

A unique configuration structure is defined for each aircraft. The configuration code is therefore unique based on the defined and possible characteristic value assignments.

The actual configuration is created at the top level of a technical object (the master equipment).

The authorized configuration is defined for the flight. By storing the permitted configurations (as characteristic value assignments) and carrying out appropriate checks, you can ensure that only permitted authorized configurations can be entered.

Classification is mapped in the master equipment and maintenance order.

Structure of configuration for an aircraft:

  • Weapon system status (K)

  • Auxiliary equipment (L)

An aircraft is assigned the configuration code K P X V L . The characters of the configuration code are defined as follows:
