Participation and Activity Determination Purpose
In the commission system, you can represent the participation in business transactions for your enterprise.
Participants are either
direct
or
indirect
.
Enter the direct participants in the input interface of the commission case.
The system determines the indirect participants according to your Customizing settings.
Participants that have an entitlement are put into entitlement groups by being assigned an entitlement category and an entitlement object type.
Definition: Entitlement Group
An entitlement group comprises of all those involved in a participation who have the same basis for entitlement. In a commission contract, an entitlement group is identified by the following criteria:
- Participation
- Entitlement category
- Entitlement object types
- Entitlement object identification
In a single commission case, for example, several agents could share the same entitlement category as a result of their common activity, giving them the same entitlement to remuneration.
Definition: Entitlement Category
Categorization of entitlement. An entitlement category exactly defines the basis for entitlement. Such a basis may be:
Performing a transaction
Being responsible for in-force business or customers
A contractual agreement between a direct participant and the person responsible for the acquisition
The result of organizational assignment (such as manager or consultant)
Furthermore, entitlement categories and divided up into indirect and direct entitlement categories.
Direct Entitlement
Direct participants are involved directly in achieving a particular result. A direct participant bases his or her entitlement on the commission activities of the participation, irrespective of the relationship with the other participants.
Indirect Entitlement
This is where a person is involved indirectly in the commission case. Remuneration here is based on the relationship with one or more direct participants.
Definition: Entitlement Object Type
Object type that forms the basis for a commission contract partner’s entitlement (for example, participation). It is also one of the criteria that identifies an entitlement group within a commission case. An entitlement object type has a unique entitlement object identification.
Direct participants are normally grouped into one entitlement group.
Indirect participants, on the other hand, are grouped into several entitlement groups.
You can create an entitlement group based on any criteria, such as functions (is the boss of…) and activities (presales, sales, and so on).
You can create more than one participation, and each participant can be assigned to more than one participation.
A differentiation is made between participation constellation and participation relationship.
Participation constellation
The participation constellation defines which participation role and which commission contract types are permitted in a participation. Additionally, the maximum number of participants who can have this participation role as well as the same commission contract type are specified.
Participation relationship
You use this to define the relationships between participants within a participation. The relationships can exist across entitlement groups as well as within a group.
If the entitlement of a participant is derived from entitlement category 3 “head of the organizational unit of a participant”, it is not possible to have a participation relationship for this participant since the entitlement is already derived from entitlement category 3.
Process Flow
To determine the participants, you must carry out the necessary steps in Customizing of Incentive and Commission Management.
