Manual Document Creation

Use

Manual document entry can be necessary if errors have to be cleaned up, or if corrections need to be made. Possible reasons:

The wrong remuneration amount has been determined

An error occurred during document creation in commission case processing

The data from the legacy system and the commission system does not match exactly

Special cases (exceptional commission disbursements that do not go back to a commission case, or grace day payments)

Differing remuneration rules are defined in the legacy system and the commission system. The affected agent should have received a higher remuneration for the past two months, but this was not fixed in the legacy system and must now be manually entered in the commission system.

Prerequisites

You have correctly made the settings for standard contracts in Customizing (especially for the agreements for performance-related remunerations and settlement).

The commission contract to which you want to post already exists in the commission system.

The commission clerks have the necessary authorizations.

Features

There are two tab pages on the screen for creating or displaying documents, entitled Document and Log .

Document tab page: The tab page is divided into two areas. The document header data is in the upper area (for example, document type or posting date ). In the lower area, the line item data is sometimes displayed, at other times you can enter the required data.

When you have entered all the data for a document, you can test it in a simulation run or post it in an update run (no database update takes place in the case of simulation).

It is recommended that you always simulate the document before posting it in the update run. This procedure should be repeated until the run no longer produces any errors. When the simulation has run without any errors, you can post the document.

Log tab page: The log for your simulation or update run is displayed on this tab page with messages. It shows in details how the run went, for example showing at what point and why there was an error.

Every message is displayed in its own line. Only the message short text is displayed in the log. A double click takes you to the corresponding line, in order to see the associated long text. This where you find further information, for example the concrete procedure for error handling.
