Configuring Groups of Web Service Clients

Use

You can create configurations of multiple Web service clients at one go. More information about the underlying concepts: Configuration of Groups of Web Service Clients .

Caution

In case you assign a provider system that provides more than one implementation of the same Web service to a Service Group, the background process that applies the configuration cannot determine which Web service to configure and does not allow you to choose which Web service you want to consume.

For example, there are two applications that are deployed on the same provider system: application App_ABC_1 provides a service with service interface SEI_XYZ and consumes a Web service with the same service interface SEI_XYZ that is provided by another application App_ABC_2 . When you configure the consumption of SEI_XYZ by application App_ABC_1 , the system may create a configuration entity that points to the Web service provided by the same application App_ABC_1 , instead to the Web service provided by App_ABC_2 .

To avoid this, proceed as follows:

Create a Service Group with only one service reference.
Create a system connection to a single Web service of the provider system using the WSDL document of the concrete Web service which you want to consume.
Assign the system connection to the Service Group.

Procedure

The configuration of groups of Web service clients goes through the following phases:

The Business Administrator groups Service Groups in one or more business scenarios or configures a consumer application and assigns the connection to the Service Groups.
