Translating Documents
Use
For translating documents you also use transaction SO10. Make sure that you know the IDs of the texts you want to translate.
Process
Translation in a Unicode system

Call transaction SO10.

Make sure the original language of the standard text you want to translate has been entered in the Language field.

Use F4 for the Text ID field, and select the ID to which your standard texts belong.

Use F4 for the Text Name field. The Find Standard Texts screen appears.

Choose Execute. The standard texts belonging to the selected text ID are listed.

Double-click the standard text you want to translate.

Choose Change.

Choose Text -> Save as .....

In the dialog box, change the original language to the language into which you want to translate.

Choose Save.
-
Overwrite the source text with your translation.

Choose Save.
Translation in a Non-Unicode system

Call transaction SO10.

Make sure the original language of the standard text you want to translate has been entered in the Language field.

Use F4 for the Text ID field, and select the ID to which your standard texts belong.

Use F4 for the Text Name field. The Find Standard Texts screen appears.

Choose Execute. The standard texts belonging to the selected text ID are listed.

Place the cursor on the standard text you want to translate.

Choose Change Text.

Choose Text -> Save as .....

In the dialog box, change the original language to the language into which you want to translate.

Choose Save.

Choose Back.

Repeat steps 6 to 11 for all the other standard texts you want to translate. Take a note of their technical names.

Choose Back.

On the Find Standard Texts screen, enter the Text and Text ID of the first text you want to translate, and the target language.

Choose Change.

Enter the translation, and save.
