Importing a Software Component Version to ESR

Context

You can perform transport of Enterprise Services Repository (ESR) objects in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio by importing a software component version to ESR.

You use this procedure to import a software component version from a server or your local system to ESR.

Procedure

  1. Launch SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
  2. Choose Start of the navigation pathWindow Next navigation step Open Perspective Next navigation step OtherEnd of the navigation path.
  3. In the Open Perspective dialog box, choose Enterprise Services Repository.
  4. Connect to your ESR system by choosing in the Enterprise Service Browser.
  5. Choose Start of the navigation pathESR Next navigation step Transport Next navigation step Import Design ObjectsEnd of the navigation path.
  6. In the Import Design Objects dialog box, choose the File Location from which you want to import the transport archives.
    You have the following options in theFile Location section:

    • Server

    • Client

  7. If you want to import the archives from the server location, perform the following steps:
    1. Choose Start of the navigation pathServer Next navigation step NextEnd of the navigation path.
    2. Select the Transport Archives that you want to import from the server directory.
  8. If you want to import the transport archive files from the client directory, choose the Start of the navigation pathClient Next navigation step Browse...End of the navigation path option.
    1. Select the directory of your transport archives, and choose Start of the navigation pathOK Next navigation step NextEnd of the navigation path.
    2. Select the Transport Archives that you want to import from the client directory.
  9. Choose Finish.

    The Import Status page appears with the status of your transport archives import.

  10. Choose Close.

    The Browser view is refreshed.
