Installing Temporary License Keys

Context

You can bridge the period until you receive the requested license key from SAP with a temporary license key in the following cases:

  • If the hardware configuration of the host on which the message server is running changes. In this case, the hardware key of the host can also change.

  • If the message server is moved to another host

  • The license key has expired. You can use the temporary license key to bridge a gap of up to 28 days before you install a permanent license key.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the host where the message server is running at operating system level as user <sid>adm.
  2. Enter the command saplikey pf=<profile> -temp <product>.

Results

The following message confirms the successful installation of the license key: saplikey: Temporary license successfully installed.
