Monitoring with the System Log

Use

The message server outputs the following new system log messages for monitoring and troubleshooting:

  • SL5 shows that the network ID has been changed, which is not a problem as long as a suitable license is installed:

    • Severity: Information

    • Text: Network ID changed, new ID is XXXXXXXXXXX

  • SL6 indicates an error during the periodic update of the network ID, if it is not possible to access an ID generator. An existing network ID is still valid, since the 24 hour grace period has not yet expired.

    • Severity: Warning

    • Text: Update of the network ID failed

  • SL4 indicates reversion to using the hardware ID of the local message server, since it was not possible to update the network ID for more than 24 hours, or the first request for a network ID failed. To continue to use the system you require a corresponding license for the local hardware ID.

    • Severity: Error

    • Text: Error in network ID update => switch to local hardware ID
