Applying for an SAP License

Use

Your installation is assigned to one SAP software product. A license is granted for exactly one SAP system based on your installation. Your contract department will provide your installation number.

Prerequisites

You need to apply for a separate license for each system. To determine your license key, we need the following data:

• Installation Number: 10-digit number assigned by SAP

• E-Mail Address: Email address of the requester

• System ID: System name (C11, T11, and so on)

• SAP Product: Name of the SAP Product (SAP NetWeaver, APO, BW, and so on)

• Product Version: Version of the operated software product

• Hardware Data: operating system, licensed database system

• Hardware Key: 11-digit hardware key of your server

• System Type: Production, Test (see appendix: System Types)

• License Type:

  • Standard (License key for ABAP installation and ABAP and Java installation)

  • J2EE Engine (for an AS Java-only installation)

  • Portal (for Enterprise Portal 6.0 systems with Support Package < 9 and for Enterprise Portal 5 systems)

Procedure

Determine your hardware key and then request your SAP license key.
