Book A series of prenumbered forms that you create by dividing up a lot .
You divide lots into books to make them more manageable. For example, if you purchase an invoice lot but your sales department prints out invoices on two separate printers, you could split the lot between the two printers, in effect creating two books. You would record the books in the system accordingly.
To record books in the system, in Customizing for

You assign each book a number and name of your choice and you specify which forms are covered by the book. You can also specify whether the forms are to be used within a specific period of time (this is not generally the case), and a default printer, if, as in the above example, you intend to use a specific printer for the book. Leave the

field blank: when you start to use the forms in this book, the system uses it to store the number of the last form that you have used. It updates this number automatically each time you use a form.
