The DataStore object (advanced) is the central object for data storage and data consolidation in the BW system.
Prerequisites
You are using a SAP HANA database with Support Package 08 and revision 83 or higher. You have installed and configured the BW Modeling tools with Eclipse Client 1.5 or higher. The BW backend must have release version SAP BW 7.4 7.4 SPS9 and you need to implement all required SAP Notes for the DataStore object (advanced).
Procedure
- You are in the BW Modeling tools. In the context menu for your BW project, choose . You will now be guided through the creation process by a wizard. More information: Creating DataStore Objects Using the Wizard (advanced)
- The General tab opens. If you set the External SAP HANA View flag, an SAP HANA view is generated from the DataStore object. More information: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw74/helpdata/en/66/33d851345c4770bd4e523701b9f5b0/content.htm
- If you have not selected a template for the data warehousing layer, you can configure the required properties manually under Modeling Properties. More information: Modeling Properties
- On the Details tab, select the InfoObjects that you want to be included in the DataStore object and/or create the fields. You can create groups in order to organize the fields and InfoObjects.
- If you add a non-cumulative key figure, the system will also display the Inventory tab. More information: Using Non-Cumulative Key Figures
- Optional expert setting: You can create partitions for key fields on the Settings tab.
- Optional expert setting: You can create secondary indexes for a DataStore object on the Settings tab. The index is created on the active table. If no active table is found, the index is created on the inbound table. More information: Creating Indexes
- Activate the DataStore object.
Results
The DataStore object (advanced) is displayed in the Data Warehousing Workbench and can be integrated into a data flow.
