Convertible Bonds

Definition

Convertible bonds are bonds that vest the right to convert the bonds to stocks under specific conditions within a certain period.

  • To map convertible bonds in the system, you can use the default product category Convertible Bonds (70) . To define a product type, in Customizing for the Transaction Manager choose Start of the navigation path Securities Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Product Types Next navigation step Define Product Types.   • You create convertible bonds as classes in the system. Make sure that the stock to which the bond is to be converted already exists as a class.

  • To convert positions or partial positions of a bond, on the SAP Easy Access screen choose Start of the navigation path Treasury and Risk Management Next navigation step Transaction Manager Next navigation step Securities Next navigation step Trading Next navigation step Security Rights Next navigation step Exercise End of the navigation path (FWER).
