Set Up Order Type

Use

You must define order types in order to enter service ordering orders. An order type determines the properties of service ordering orders, for example, the possible order fillers or initiators.

There are two kinds of order types:

  • Elemental Order Type

Elemental order types consist of clinical application components and design elements.

  • Profile Type

Profile types are made up of existing elemental order types.

Note

You can only use elemental order types for service ordering.

Features

You set up order types in the Customizing activity Set Up Order Types for Clinical Order. The following tab pages are available for this:

  • Order Fillers Tab Page

On this tab page you determine the order fillers to which service ordering orders of this order type can be addressed. Here you determine a service hit list for an order filler, which means you determine which services you can order with this order type from the corresponding order filler. In service ordering you can use the order types only for the determined order fillers.

The following indicators are relevant for service ordering:

    • Surgery: This indicator determines that this is an order of the Surgery type.

    • A: This indicator determines that the order type is available in the list of order types.

    • H: This indicator determines whether the system only displays services from the service hit list of the order filler.

  • Initiators Tab Page

On this tab page you determine the initiators who can initiate service ordering orders for this order type.

  • Structuring Tab Page

On this tab page you determine the structure of an order type. You can find further information on this under Order Type for Service Ordering: Structuring Tab Page

  • Screen Modification Tab Page

On this tab page you define a status profile for an order type. You can define different status profiles for an order type, depending on time periods which, however, may not overlap.

  • Methods Tab Page

On this tab page you use methods to define the behavior of service ordering orders of this order type when the status changes.

The Methods tab page provides you with the methods of all application components which you have selected on the Structuring tab page.

  • Task Definition Tab Page

On this tab page you define the tasks which are available for service ordering in task management.

You can find further information on task management under Task Management for Service Ordering.

    Note

Task management is a licensed component of i.s.h.med.

  • Order Templates Tab Page

On this tab page you create order templates and assign these to an order type. In order templates you determine the preset content of a service ordering order.

You must assign at least one service to an order template. The order templates are available for selection in service ordering on the Select Services page in the Services UIBB.

  • Other Tab Page

On this tab page you define the standard settings of the order type. The selection options Case Type (Case Dependencies) and Cycle Input Active are significant to service ordering.
