Selecting Archived Messages

Use

You can use the message monitor to find archived messages, display their content, and compare the different message versions. You can find archived messages either by searching the archive, or by performing an advanced search for messages that match specific search criteria.

Prerequisites

The system has been set to archive messages. You can do this by choosing the interfaces whose messages have to be archived and then scheduling the corresponding archiving jobs. For more information, see Defining Interfaces and Retention Periods for Archiving and Archiving and Deleting .

Procedure

Searching the Archive

  1. Call the SXMB_MONI transaction.

  2. On the Integration Engine: Monitoring. screen, choose Archived XML Messages (Search Using Archive) .

    The system displays a list of all executed archiving sessions. If no archived messages exist, the system displays a corresponding message.

  3. Choose which information should be displayed:

    • To display detailed information about a particular archiving session, select the corresponding archiving session by double-clicking it. The system displays details about the session in question in a separate dialog box.

    • To display archive files created in a particular archiving session, expand the archiving session in question. The system displays a list of all archive files created in that archiving session.

    • To display detailed information about a particular archive file, select the corresponding archive file by double-clicking it. The system displays details about the archive file in question in a separate dialog box.

    • If you want to display messages that were archived in a particular archiving run or saved in a particular archive file, select the corresponding archiving run or archive file and choose Continue .

      The system displays the messages on the XML Message Processing screen. To display the archived messages found individually and to compare the existing versions, select the relevant line and choose Display Archived Versions. For more information, see Displaying Message Versions .

Advanced Search for Archived Messages

  1. Call transaction SXI_READ_ARCHIVE_ID.

    Alternatively, call transaction SXMB_MONI and choose Archived XML Messages (Complex Search Criteria) .

  2. Enter search details as necessary. For more information, see Searching for Messages .

  3. Start the search.
