Copy Calendar Events

Copy your SAP Analytics Cloud calendar events to repeat existing settings.

Context

Copying your content will save you some time you'd spend on recreating events.
Note
  • If you copy a task with recurrence, only one occurrence of the task will be copied. It’s not possible to copy a series.

  • You can't copy input tasks.

  • If you'd like to copy a publication, see the instructions at Schedule a Publication in the Managing Schedules section.

Procedure

  1. Select the event you'd like to copy and then select Copy.
  2. Provide an Event Name. You may choose a Suffix in order to distinguish between the original and the copied events.
  3. Select the start condition:
    Start By Description
    Time Set the Start Date.
Dependency The start date of your copied event depends on other events and their status.
    1. Select Add Events to define which events your copied event shall depend on.

    2. Under Statuses, select which status these events need to meet before your copied event can start.

    Note

All of the selected events need to meet any of the chosen statuses before your copied event can start.

For more information, see Define Dependencies Among Calendar Events.
Parent Process Your copied event will start at the same time as its parent process.
    Note

If you haven't added a parent process to your copied event yet, you'll be asked to select one.

  4. Optional: If you copy a process and you want to include child events, choose Copy all child events.
    Note

Child events of the type input task won't be copied.

  5. Optional: If you want the same people from the original event to be included in your copied event, please select Retain owners, reviewers, assignees, and viewers, if any.
  6. Optional: If you want the task to start automatically, select the appropriate option depending on the chosen start condition:
    • Activate the event at start date automatically: The copied event will be activated automatically at the selected start date.

    • Activate the event automatically once any status of the dependencies is met: Once all selected events your copied event is dependent on have met any of the selected statuses, the copied event will be activated automatically.

    • Activate the event automatically once its parent process starts: The copied event will be activated automatically at the start date of its parent process.

You can only select one of these options under the following conditions:
    • You've selected Retain owners, reviewers, assignees, and viewers, if any first.

    • To copy composite tasks or general tasks, the original task needs at least one assignee.

    • To copy review tasks, the original task needs at least one reviewer as assignee of this task.

    • To copy data locking tasks, the original task needs at least one assignee and a context defined.

    • To copy processes, make sure that the original process has at least one assignee.

    • To copy processes with child events, make sure that the original process or one of its child events has at least one assignee.

  7. Optional: If you'd like to copy the attached work files (stories, analytic applications, or URLs), choose Copy all work files, if any.
  8. Optional: To structure your workflow, you can add the event to a process: Choose Add Parent Process and select the process.
    Note

You can select only the processes that you can edit. You need to be the owner or the assignee of the parent process.

To see the relationship between child events and their parent processes more easily, use the Gantt or List workspace.

  9. Select Create.

The event is added to the calendar and opened in the Details panel.

Next Steps

You can now work in the Details panel and adjust your copied event to your needs.
