Creating a Reporting Layout with Header, Footer and Margins

You can split the canvas into three distinct areas to create a reporting layout, and have different formatting for each of them if needed.

In the Styling Panel, in the Page Layout section, use the two dedicated toggles to show or hide the footer and the header. When toggled on, the application layers additional areas dedicated to the header and the footer so that you can have different formatting for each of them if needed.

The borders are highlighted in orange so you can quickly visualize them. To edit the size of the footer or the header, click the corresponding border and drag the mouse up or down to increase or decrease the size of the area you’ve selected.

The header and the footer are available for both fixed and dynamic canvas, and can be combined with a paginated canvas. If the canvas page is set to fixed, you can edit the body margins in Edit mode using the dedicated drop down. They can be either non visible, normal, narrow, or wide. There are no margins in a dynamic canvas, but you can still have a header and a footer.

Only Text, Image, Shape and Clock widgets are allowed in the header or footer. When inserted or moved to the header or footer, these widgets are automatically resized if they are too big to be displayed.
