Use the Toolbar in View Time Mode

When you view your analytic or planning application in SAP Analytics Cloud, the toolbar helps you to navigate to the functions that are most important to you in your current workflow.

At first you don't see the toolbar as the application is opened in fullscreen mode. However, when you hover the mouse cursor at the top of the page, you can access a condensed version of the toolbar. To switch to view mode, click the button in the toolbar to leave the fullscreen. In view time mode the toolbar is fixed and always displayed in the application in its full version depending on the application's context.

Note

Your choice of menu options in the toolbar changes depending on the type of application and the data it contains (analytic or planning application). The most important functions can be reached by quick access buttons.

Functions related to planning applications such as Publish Data and Version Management are only shown if there is a planning-enabled table available in the application. If not, the functions are hidden. An exception for this is a planning application that is based on a BPC model: In this case only Publish Data is displayed.

The toolbar has several sections:
  • Edit

This section contains the following functions:
    Function Description
    Refresh

    • Refresh: reload the application to get the most recent data.

    • Auto Refresh: automatically refresh the application at an interval set by the application designer

  • Tools

This section contains the following functions:
    Function Description
    Predictive Forecast

If this option is enabled, you can select a single cell that can be edited, to start a predictive time series forecast. For more information, please see Work with Predictive Time Series Forecast in Tables in Analytic Applications.
    Edit Prompts

If this option is enabled, you can filter application data from the data source level by setting application variables that you want to display in the application. Charts or tables that are built from that data source will get updated based on the details you entered.

For example, if you want the application to show only full-time employees who have worked in the company for at least 7 years, you can set these variables and change the details.

    Allocate

There are two ways to allocate values:
Version History Use the version history function to quickly undo or redo private or public version changes.

For more information, see Undo, Redo, and Revert Changes to Versions.

Version Management With this option you can copy, publish, delete and share public and private versions. For more information, see About the Version Management Panel.

The options Version History andVersion Management display a check symbol if one of them is selected.

Schedule Publication If this option is option is enabled, you can schedule a publication for both stories and analytic applications. As for a story, you can create a single schedule or a recurring schedule for an analytic application.

For further informatio, see Schedule Publication for an Analytic Application.

    Note

The Value Lock Management function can be found in the context menu of the table. Use this option to create value locks so that data in the selected cell can't be changed or edited. This option is only displayed if the table is based on a planning model that supports frontend value locks. For more information, see About Value Lock Management.

    Note

The options Version History and Version Management display a check symbol if one of them is selected.

  • Display

This section contains the following functions:
    Function Description
Comment Mode When viewing a planning application in the view time mode (Exit Fullscreen), you can directly show or hide all comments by choosing the Display button from the toolbar and check the option Comment Mode.
