Generate Tasks and Processes with the Calendar Wizard
Use a wizard in the SAP Analytics Cloud calendar to generate
tasks and processes from an organizational dimension.
Prerequisites
You need an existing process that is not in final status and not yet due.
Context
If you have a process and want to quickly add tasks and processes to it, use the calendar
wizard. You will be able to select a hierarchy from the dimensions and select
specific members in the hierarchy.
Note
The generated tasks are composite tasks that let you define assignees as well as
reviewers.
Procedure
-
In the Calendar, select an Inactive or
In Progress process.
-
Choose .
The calendar wizard appears.
- Optional:
You can add work files to the generated events by selecting Add File.
Note
If the existing process already has a work file, it will be
replicated to the generated events. You can still modify the work
file once the events are generated.
To continue, select Step 2.
-
Select a model and the dimension to use as the driving dimension as well as the members of
the hierarchy to include as processes or tasks.
To continue, select Step 3.
-
Set the properties for defining assignees or reviewers. Depending on how your modeler has
defined the dimension properties, you can assign either individual users or
teams.
- Optional:
If required, you can add multiple review rounds: To do so, select Add a New Round.
You can move up or down the review rounds by clicking on the arrows.
Note
You can’t set the same person as assignee and reviewer, thus you can
select each property only once.
To continue, select Step 4.
-
Enter an Event Name.
By default the name is set up of the parent process name and the description
of each selected member.
Note
The combination of prefix and description helps you find the related
tasks in the calendar.
To continue, select Step 5.
-
Preview the list of events.
If you want to make changes, you can scroll up and down to go through the wizard and update
your selections.
To let the assignees and the reviewers view the correct set of data, make sure your
administrator has set up Data Access Control. For more information, see
Set Up Data Access Control.
-
If everything looks correct, select Generate.
Your events are now being generated. Once all events are generated you'll get a
notification. After you received the notification, refresh your browser to
see the events in your calendar.
Results
When there are too many tasks to display in the Calendar view, a number
appears. Select that to see the total number of events. In the
Gantt view and in the List view
the hierarchy is collapsed and can be expanded.
