Importing Data into a New or Existing Model from Open Connectors Cloud Storage Data Sources

You can import data from an Open Connectors cloud storage data source to new or existing models.

Prerequisites

Note
If your SAP Analytics Cloud system is hosted on a data center located within China, this feature is not available.

Procedure

  1. Select the appropriate option:
    • If you're creating a new model:

      1. Select Start of the navigation path (Main Menu) Next navigation step  Create Next navigation step  ModelEnd of the navigation path.
      2. Select Get data from a data source.
      3. Choose an Open Connectors cloud storage data source, such as Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive.
      Note
      From the acquire data panel, you can select the filter icon, and then choose Open Connectors to show only the Open Connectors data sources in the list.
    • If you're importing into an existing model:

      1. Select Start of the navigation path (Main Menu) Next navigation step  Browse Next navigation step  FilesEnd of the navigation path.
      2. Open the model you want to update.
      3. Switch to the Data Management screen.

      4. Select Start of the navigation path Next navigation step Data sourceEnd of the navigation path.
      5. Choose an Open Connectors cloud storage data source, such as Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive.
      Note
      From the acquire data panel, you can select the filter icon, and then choose Open Connectors to show only the Open Connectors data sources in the list.
  2. Select an existing connection, or select Create New Connection to create a new connection.
  3. Choose a file from the list, or search for a file, and select Next.
    Note
    Only files that have been loaded will appear in the search results. To see more results, open more folders.
    Note
    If you're importing an Excel workbook containing multiple sheets, the first sheet is automatically imported.
  4. Specify whether the first row of data contains column headers.
  5. If you're importing a .csv file, select which delimiter is used in the file, or select Auto-detect.
  6. Select Import to begin the import procedure.
  7. When the draft data is finished uploading, open it from the Draft Data list (for a new model or dataset), or the Draft Sources list (for an existing model or dataset).

    The data appears in the data integration view.
