Adding Smart Insights Text as a Chart Footer

You can add Smart Insights tokens that display dynamic text in chart footers.

Prerequisites

To add a dynamic text token, you need to be working in your story in edit mode.

Context

You can enhance the information displayed in your chart by adding a chart footer containing some Smart Insights text. The chart footer text gives you a better understanding of what's going on in your chart, and can help you make better business decisions. The text calls out the highest contributor to your chart, and provides a helpful preview of the types of insights available to you in the Smart Insights panel.

Procedure

  1. Select a chart in your story.
  2. From the chart action menu, select Start of the navigation path (More Actions) Next navigation step  Add Smart InsightsEnd of the navigation path.

    You can copy and paste the Smart Insights text token to a text box in your story.

    The chart footer text is added to the bottom of your chart.

  3. Select View more... to open the Smart Insights panel, so you can explore the insights in more detail.

Results

The Smart Insights dynamic text is added to the chart footer. The text is automatically updated based on the data point selected in your chart.
