Exporting XLIFF Files

To initiate the translation of a story, model, public dimension, or SAP Analytics Hub content, export the XLIFF files.

Context

The Export icon in the Translation dashboard is present in the tool bar. You can export the strings to be translated to the downloadable XLIFF file, which can then be used to translate the content.

Procedure

  1. In the Translation dashboard, you can select a single story, model, or public dimension, or multiple objects, that you want to translate.
  2. Click the Export icon to download the XLIFF files.
If one object is selected to be exported, the corresponding XLIFF file can be downloaded as a .zip file.
  3. You can choose to select All Strings or Outstanding Strings while exporting the XLIFF file(s). The Outstanding Strings option is enabled only for partially translated objects.

The XLIFF file is downloaded to the default location in your system.

    Note
The downloaded XLIFF file contains the source locale and the list of text that needs translation. You can use this XLIFF file in any external translation tool to generate the translated content as a separate XLIFF file per locale.
