Using the Detailed View

The Detailed View tile in the navigation panel displays a tree structure of the contents of the object selected in the Portal Catalog, including views and services used in workcenter roles. This tile is useful for displaying contents of an object for reuse in other roles, worksets and pages.

1. To view the contents of an objects in the Portal Catalog, drag up the Detailed View tile below the Portal Content tile to open it. The contents of the selected object are displayed in a hierarchical tree. (This is especially useful with workcenter roles, because the navigational structure is not available in the editor).

2. You can use the context menu of the object selected in the Detailed View to perform the following functions:

   • Reuse the object in a different role, workset, or page by choosing Add <object> to <open object> where <open object> is the object presently open in its editor. For example: Add Workset to Role or Add iView to Page .

   • Add pages and iViews as views, services or as home pages to an open workcenter role.

   • Copy the PCD ID of an object to the Clipboard for use elsewhere, by choosing Copy ID .

   • Copy the URL of the object for pasting to the Clipboard or to a different portal framework, by choosing Copy URL .
