Launchpad ComponentLocate this document in the navigation structure

Definition

A generic design template for displaying navigation destinations that are implemented using the Web Dynpro component FPM_LAUNCHPAD_UIBB.

Use

You use this design template in the floor plan for an overview page to add a launchpad of type FPM_UIBB and configure how it is displayed.

Structure

In the standard system, the display of a launchpad component on an overview page consists of three configurable areas:

  • Homepage

    The system can format a launchpad that you use via a launchpad component on an overview page in three different ways on the home page. Users can switch between these using the toolbar. The following formats are available:

    • Directory

      In this format, the launchpad's folder structure is shown but the individual folders are not initially opened.

    • Map

      In this format, the first level of the folder structure of the launchpad is shown. The system can also show quicklinks below each folder. These quicklinks are selected items from that folder.

    • Index

      In this view, all navigation destinations are listed alphabetically.

    In the Directory and Map views, you can navigate to each of the area pages via the title of the group or via the relevant icon.

    Note

    You can activate navigation via icons in Customizing for the launchpad. To do this, choose Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step General Settings End of the navigation path in Customizing for the launchpad and select the Set Icons as Selectable checkbox.

  • Frequently used links ( (mostFreqUsed )

    An area that presents those navigation destinations separately that the user uses most frequently in this application.

    In Customizing for the lauchpad, you can predefine this area with entries from the existing Customizing settings. This way, the area is displayed with entries even when the user opens the application for the first time.

  • Related links ( RelatedLinks )

    An area where the system shows additional navigation destinations that are not part of the navigation destinations on the homepage. You must also make these navigation destinations available via the launchpad.

Integration

You can only use the launchpad component together in the context of the floor plan for an overview page. The configuratoin of the launchpad component uses the standard configuration editor from Web Dynpro ABAP for Web Dynpro components.

In the configuraton, you can detgermine which format of the Homepage is the default for a certain launchpad component. You also determine which launchpad is added to the Related Links area. It is required that this launchpad already have the launchpad type FPM_UIBB assigned to it in Customizing for the launchpad.
